I picked up a pair of open pro w/ ultegra a few months ago. These are a great set of wheels. I can tell no difference when I am riding these wheels compared to my ksyriums. They are pretty light wheels as well, about the same weight of the k's. In reality there is very little difference in ride or performance with the k's and the open pros except for a $600 price gap. We will see how they do durability wise, but is my MA-3 hoops are any indication, they will hold up for a long time.
Oops - now you have done it....muncher

you have let the worst kept secret out of the bag.

Of course, you are absolutley correct, but there are lots of people who have convinced themselves that they have spent the extra $600 wisely....

I have Mavic OP Silver Wheelsmith built with Chorus hubs on my new Master X-Light. I'm happy with the Mavics. Keep in mind an important factor about wheels is who builds them. You can have a crappy or good set of both. Probably can't go wrong with either wheelset....

op/chorus, hand built, on the merckx. light and springy. just haven't decided on the velocity. i think the answer may be "yes". i'll probably pick up a set of op/ultegra down the road as spares.

it always amazes me how people will spend hundreds if not thousands on a frame/components that add no actuall performance/feel difference but may say colnago/pinarello on the side, but when it comes to wheels, just get the OP'S. I smell some hipocrits.
