passing gas etiquette and club rides(14 posts)

passing gas etiquette and club ridesohmk1

When riding in a pace line, I've always tried to control passing gas. It's rude not to, right? But here I am riding with a new bike club, and couple of the dudes let it out like howitzers (both riding C'dales, I might add!). So what's the story, do I have to suck it in, or can I let the good times roll?

Never waste a good one if nobody is around - that's just basic common sense.

wait until a climb, let it rip and then state loudly that you have 'engaged the afterburners'. ;)

It's better to fart and bear the shame

Than to hold it and bear the pain.

You know, it's kind of funny that I'm concerned about farting in a pace line, but yet in a crowded #2 subway, I have absolutely no shame in letting 'em rip.

What is the etiquette on passing gas in the office? Am I OK, because I have a private office? Just hope no one walks in here to soon.
