SURVEY: Technical Bicycle Statistics. Everybody is wellcomeLucas Jensen

This survey is made specially for long distance touring bicyclists,
but others may participate as well.

Dear cyclists,

I am a mechanical engineering student currently developing a new
internal multiple speed hub especially for touring bicycles.
As an important part of the development I need some technical
information on how to design the gear intervals suiting the majority
of (touring) cyclists. Hopefully I'll get a lot of answers making the
new gear hub the best on the market!

If you are not able to answer all questions I would still be
interested in receiving an answer from you.

At the end of this e-mail I have added an example on how to fill out
the questions.

How to fill out the questions:
1. Press the "Reply" button.
2. Copy my message (or only questions) into the blank message field and add your answers behind the questions.
3. When finished press the "Post my message" button.

Cyclists using an external derailleur gear shifting system please
answer 1-14 and 18-19.
Cyclists using an internal gear hub system please answer 1-11 and
15-19.

If you are unsure about some questions (eg pedaling speed) please fill
in an answer which you think is right (it doesn't have to be 100%
correct).
