|Fred Rodriguez sighting||chinpokomon|

|I am pretty sure I saw Fred Rodriguez riding down Ygnacio Valley Rd. in Walnut Creek, CA today while I drove by as the passenger in a car. I was first struck by the facial similarity, and then I noticed the accompanying gear - U.S. Pro Champion jersey, Domo shorts, Merckx Team SC. Either this was, indeed, the real Fred Rodriguez (a bay area resident), or he has a clone. I told my friend about it, and an argument ensued as he insisted that it was "just another generic Fred (no pun intended)." I trust my eyes, though, and think it was him. Anyone know if he trains in the area?|

|Yeah, it's him. I saw him almost every day this week cruising through my neighborhood on his way out into the hills (I live near you). Sometimes I've seen Fred while out riding, but if I'm going the other way I don't want to do a u-turn and chase him down like a stalker, just to say "hey, Fred, whassup?"
I see him riding his bike in the East Bay hills in the off season, and a few times during the year when he comes home for a break. It's funny he can ride through my neighborhood (crowded shopping district) and no one seems to recognize him--one of the world's fastest athletes!

|I too ride in the East Bay and have seen Freddy on a couple of occaisions. The first time I had stopped for some reason, when I noticed him coming up off of Spruce St. onto Grizzly Peak Blvd. I was stunned and excited to see him so I decided to say "Hi Freddy!". He looked over and rode up to me looking sort of confused...like perhaps he should know who I was. I told him that I was just a fan who admired his riding. We chatted for a few moments, then shook hands and off he went.
He is a very nice guy indeed.
