It looks like they may have a chance at getting into the TDF after all if Saeco gets canned. Nothing against Simoni, but I'd much rather see Zulle in the Tour because I'm a big fan of his and I don't now much about Simoni. Chances are, that if Simoni failed his first test, he'll fail the second one also.
From what I've read, Simoni is good in the mountains, but no good in tt's, which makes him a challenger for a stage win, but not the overall. It takes someone like Zulle to beat Lance, because Lance can tt and climb and Zulle is one of the few people who can beat him in a tt and hang on in the climbs (as long as he doesn't crash like he did in '99).

I just realized that if Saeco isn't invited to the Tour, LeBlanc probably won't invite a team like Coast, with stars like Zulle, Casero, and Escartin, he'll probably just invite another second rate French team with a bunch of crappy French ridders.

I'm telling ya, no Saeco. I guess Acqua Sapone is getting a better return on their investment.

to lose it's invitation. Without a GC contender (Simoni) they are as useful to the tour as Mercatone Uno, or as tits are to a boar ....dude.

Saeco couldn't afford both Cippo and Simoni. Cippo won 2 classics, 3 Giro stages so far and has earned his paycheck. Simoni takes one stage, does okay in the classics and brings a cloud over his team. which execs right now are happy?
