I've been noticing this a lot on the road (and I'm not hyper-sensative), when I encounter a roadie, he gives me the "you're not worthy" look, and when I pass the casual guys on their mountain bikes, they give me an indignant look. Can't we at least be CIVIL??

I'm new to road biking, and it's the first time in many years back on a bike, so I'm all grins when I'm out for a ride, waving and saying good morning to everyone I see, because it's FUN. The only people I get attitude from are some of the guys dressed head to toe in a shop's uniform. I don't think they see me as a threat (how could they?), but they have their game face on.

So if you see some guy rolling by you on a kermit the frog green bike giving a wave, wave back already.

I like that much better than thinking they're jerks.

Since our rides are not for training purposes, I guess we're allowed to smile, huh? :)
