Should I buy the Kestrel talon ?(4 posts)

Should I buy the Kestrel talon ?skibert

I need a new bike that I can use to race(mostly tri.) and train with. Its more money then I wanted to spend but I love the bike, is there any reason why I shouldnt buy it, ie better bikes for the price(~$2500), or something wrong with the talon. I would prefer to buy it used to save $ but I cant find any.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Robert

Other suggestions, the cervelo soloist.. dead sexy ride, and seat post that you can flip to go to a full tt/tri seat angle.. or.. the trek 5200 if your set on carbon, its a great deal, not the dead sexiest... really quite common, but, its a great deal and a great bike.
But hey, there is no reason that i am aware of that you couldnt be very happy with a talon, and that in the end is what matters.. (rider's happiness...)

good luck

you might want to take a look at the Look Kg386 also. good bike for triathlons. you could build it up with a full ultegra kit including wheels from a place like GVH bikes or others for less than 2500. You can find the frame for 1275 at Totalcycling.com, I just got my kg381i from them, good service. check it out.

The talon probably isn't a bad deal either.

fro 2500$ you can easily get one of those. cervelo is to aero bikes as king is to headsets!

no other option
