Phil Liggettism on Giro broadcast (NOT a spoiler)Djudd

Phil's inimitable broadcast style continues: said excitedly, "he let the other riders break the wind for him"
They must all be REALLY close friends to do that! LOL -nmTig

He made up a word the other day in response to the Perezrideslikeagirl

While I realize that this is hardly the point, my dictionary hasbill

it.
"traumatization" n. form of the verb "traumatize."

She said,
Can't stand to hear him sing
But I like the way he talks.
Bummer. I liked it better when I thought it was original- nmrideslikeagirl

I believe Phil said: "the Dr.'s reported that Perez had traumatism to the skull, or skull bones". LOL - "Traumatism", is that a word - Such an obvious, layman's, conclusion 2 seconds after the crash, no medical diagnosis needed for that one, & no Dr. would have put it that way. More likely, severe contusion with several small lacerations and abrasions, or a mild concussion, or "after the MRI &/or CT, it was revealed that Perez had a small subdural hematoma resulting in petit mal seizure activity", etc., etc. - but, "traumatism", no way, sorry. A good "Philitism" though. :-)
THAT was it! nmrideslikeagirl

the funniest part of every show is the commercial breaks where Phil says, "Burger King, home of the whopper."
Also "Commercial Free", then "there are those who travel..."nmelviento

I think he said "there's that little Mexican in the orange jersey!" today.
When he gets excited everyone is "little."Sintesi

As in : " that wonderful little climber from Spain!"

or when regarding Pantani: "... and there he goes! He's such a predictable little man!"

"Absolutley remarkable!" replies Paul.

Everything is "Amazing" to Paul.

These guys have some minor annoyances when you listen to them for 2 hours a day, but when you hear another announcer, you realize how good they really are. David Duffield bores me to tears, and his oft partner Sean Kelly should stick to riding bikes.

Yes, I could not agree more on this...

"Sean Kelly should stick to riding bikes"

This one, I dunno, didn't he recently take a bit of a digger?
