i did not have a chance to ride outside yesterday so i rode the rollers...did 25 mi at an avg of 22.6...maybe no big deal for some of y'all on this site but i just started back riding in jan after a 20 year lay off and i also turned 52 in feb....ride safe

rollers are great for those base miles -- steady rolling, nobill

distractions, etc., etc. Get a HRM; changed my life almost as much as rollers did. Keep at a steady HR squarely in the aerobic range for a month or two, then add intensity to taste.
I got a resistance unit for my rollers finally. With a resistance unit, well, it's not quite the same as screaming up a hill, but it's not too far off, and my four-year-old knows where to find me.
