Selling bikes through an LBSempacher6seat

So I dropped off an old bike I had the other day to sell on consignment. I stated the price, the guy at the shop said no problem, he took the bike, I filled out a sheet with my contact information and a description of the bike, said thanks and took off. What I realize now is that I didn't get a copy of the description sheet, or anything saying that bike is actually mine. Do any of your LBS' do the same? I know there's another in my city that just scribbles your name and number and the kind of bike you're selling on a note pad and they give you a call if someone's interested! Would it be inappropriate to go back to the store and ask for a copy of the description sheet??

but it's probably not worth the damage to their reputation to rob you of a bike. That said, keeping copies of receipt is a good habit to form as a general matter.
