|Sell my new Velomax Orions for Ksyriums - am I nuts?||RCole|

|I think we've all had the urge. You know the one to needlessly replace perfectly good components for the "sweeter set-up". In golf I think they call it being a "club ho". There's really no need to do this; the Orions are great wheels. But the Mavic are really sweet looking wheels and reviewers love em. Any words of wisdom out there?|

|There's never a bad reason to upgrade.... or try different stuff. I just got a set of SSL's and like them... just be sure to have a backup set of wheels, as with any proprietary wheelset, if there's the need to send them back to the factory for warranty work plan on a long wait. I once waited 3 months for a set of Rolf Vector Pros.|

|If you're neglecting something important for this upgrade then, yeah, pretty dumb. But if not not. Why not make the purchase if it makes you happy? Upgraditis is part in parcel for cycling.
One more thing, the Orions are supposed to be really great wheels. If you got $800 burning a hole in your pocket isn't there anything else your bike might need. Probably could drop a pound off your bike if it has a medium spec.

|Sorry, no wisdom here. I've just put on a new pair of Os and a new pair of Ks and frankly to me they feel the same, they perform the same and for all intents and purposes they are the same. It purely boils down to chichi value - the Ks have a tad more. Not a bad reason to upgrade, but don't expect much other than feeling good looking at your bike.|

|well. the Ks are more aero. rim weights should be identical. I'd say the Ks have a slight edge.|

|Well, I pulled the trigger today and got the K's. Man do they look sweet. I appreciate all of your feedback. Fortunately, nobody/nothing will get neglected as a result of the purchase. And to answer the question of upgrading elsewhere - my bike is pretty tricked out - 01' Vortex with Dura Ace - this is my only vice.
Oh yeah - price $650 for 2002 SSC SL's - pretty good huh?
