Poll: how many ride sew-ups sometimes or all the time?(10 posts)

Poll: how many ride sew-ups sometimes or all the time?Djudd

I am hooking up another road conversion fixie. I was thinking about hanging sew-ups on it. I haven't ridden tubulars since my wannabe racer days in the late 70's-early 80's. I was just wondering how many use sew-ups regularly, maybe just on one bike or the entire stable.

... only on time trial bikes...

Tufo (both tubular and tubular clincher) and Conti.

We abide.

All the time. Going to switch the MTB to it too. Ride Vitt Corsa's. You have to fill it up everytime (leaks 20-30psi overnight) #$%^@ing pain in the rear end. Thats until you get out on the road. The feel is amazing.

I've riden Conti Sprinters and the Corsa and think the Vitts are far better. But those darn Latex tubes don't hold any air.
Tufo and ContiAlexx

Conti's ride and handle nice, but wear fast and cost $$. Tufo's are just about indestructible, and wear like iron. Remember, $40 is just about the minimum price for any tubie wirth considering. Anything cheaper is junk.
tufo with sealant...karlooz

...all the time. no need to carry a spare, but bring a mobile phone just in case. tufos are round and go on very straight, have no seam down the middle and are light (S3 lite) but they dont ride as nice as vittoria corsas.

I ride a set of Zipp 303s with Vittoria Corsas for (non rainy) race days and love the feel. I use Mavic Cosmos with Axial Pros for everything else (training, rain races or races on really bad pavement and/or dirt).

Conti Comp GP19 on the front and Conti Sprinter on the back for the road bike. Cheap Conti clincher on the wind trainer.
