Cool paint job. We know what you'll be doing tomorrow, huh?

I like it.

Yep, signed up for a metric in the Carter Lake area. Woo hoo! I'm not sorry I painted it, despite the grief the folks at Excel dished out! : )

Paint does make a bike look so much more attractive. While raw Ti can be attractive, too, it's very common.

Progress brought us Ti frames that don't need paint. But, I recall a line from one of the Star Trek movies, "Let us hereafter define 'progress' (an unpainted bike) to mean that just because something can be done, we need not do it." (very rough quote).

Individuality can be a good quality.

was there some organized ride there? wouldn't that basically be just boulder to carter lake and back? that's about 70 miles roundtrip--give or take a few miles.

This was an organized event out of Loveland, Carter Lake, Horsetooth, and back to town for breakfast, run by McKee Medical Center. I do it every year. A good time.

question about amount of spacers...ColnagoFE
May 20, 2002 7:27 AM
if this is a custom bike why so many spacers--with a rise stem even? or have you not cut down the steerer yet?
Haven't cut the steerer yet...jtolleson

A glorious idea, but I suppose I'll resist. What I should do is take a picture of my credit card bill to show them what they could have had...

Ultimately, about six weeks. Which is about double what they tell you (big surprise). Basically, Seven was fabulous to work with, though the things they say about timelines... well. ... that is the nature of the beast.

I had a long saga not to be repeated here for fear of boring others that involved an attempted purchase from Indy Fab and some ball dropping on their part, so the overall bike purchase process took just over 3 long months!

I love your bike. The paint job is fabulous. That is a very beautiful bike. Congratulations and have fun riding. Do you race on it, or is it just for fun (not that there's any difference between fun and racing :0) )?

Not a racer, just a fairly ambitious recreational rider. This thing is super responsive so in the right hands, it could be race worthy... but then I might crash and scratch it...

Very nice JT. You'll be one happy girl with this. Don't embarass your friends by getting too far ahead of them (even though everyone will know you can)!

: ) Big wow and a cool to you JT. Tell us: is the "life time" bike? Both you and JS Haiku owe us a full review by next week.

Congrats!

I don't remember, I'm embarrassed to say. I know that it is a few under the Reynolds max recommendation, so as to allow a little flexibility for any ... uh ... lack of flexibility, as it were.

If you would have asked me several weeks ago when doing the spec sheet, I'd have remember. Now I only know what color it is!

I'm sure you'll feel confident that you made the right color choice when I tell you that the towels in my bathroom are blue and green. ;-) In all seriousness, I think blue/green is about the best color scheme for a bike. That's a beauty. Congratulations.

but I don't like the color combo - cool and cold. I like warmer colors, whites, silvers and blacks. But it does look like it was done well, and if you're happy with it then that's what matters.
Black and silver are "warm" colors?mickey-mac

You may not want to mention that to all those angry Raiders fans who like to wear leather and chains and beat the crap out of people in the stands.

Guess I should've put the phrase "and in addition" between "...warm colors," and "white..." I don't think white and black are colors anyway; as for silver, it's ti at its naked best.
