Got a plunking/popping noise in my rear hub...Lone Gunman

It is a Rolf Vector Comp with 7500 miles on, overhauled and new bearings this spring, wheel is straight, it got very wet this past weekend and the noise is mainly heard while coasting. Is something drastically bad or just needs some lubrication or tightening? Seems to turn as freely as it has in the past and doesn't seem to be too loose or tight on the axle.
cassette or bearingsKerry

Take out the QR skewer and turn the axle slowly with a light touch. You should be able to feel any grittiness or grinding caused by the water exposure. If there is any, then bearings need cleanout/relube. It's harder, but try the same thing with the cassette. See if you can feel the pawls drop as you slowly "freewheel" the cassette with your fingers. It may mean that the unit has to be cleaned/lubed.
