Which Wheels? American Classic OR Velomax??joeg26er

I am trying to decide which wheelset I should get for general road use.

Anyone have any pros/cons/personal experiences with the Velomax Circuit comps or wheels built with American Classic hubs?

Thanks for any feedback.

The velomax circuit comps are great wheels. they're lighter than most top of the line production wheels, ex. the original Ksyrium and the DA non-carbon wheels. the circuits stay true for a long time b/c of the high tension and low dish that velomax put on them.

I can only speak for the Velomaxes. I love mine! I can't speak, at least at this point about long term relability because I've only had them a couple of months. To date the are still true and noticably acellerate much quicker than my Mavic's. I was constantly loosing spoke tensiion on the Mavic. So go Velomax!

check the reviews: american classic has their own wheelsets, and the later editions of Dave Thomas' Speed Dreams were built around those hubs. some have had problems with the bearings, mind you...

they had problem with people using too thick grease, that is corrected now.
also Am Class hubs engage faster (not as fast as Kings but above Shim).

I have had no exsperience with Velo Max but from i have seen and heard they are a great wheel. I have had a couple of sets of American Classic wheels and find them to be first rate. The new addition using there own rims are insanely light (under 1400 grams) yet strong they do have a weight limit "check" The down side is exspect a 3 to 4 week delivery time. Well worth the wait (also good price) I had no hubs fail (175lbs) and raced on them in a crit series (18) races-Just my view from the back

I have a set for sale in the RBR classifieds. Orion comp wheels, tires and Dura-Ace cassett $450. I changer over to Campy and can't use them anymore.
