What does the TPI rating on tires mean?
threads per inch in the carcasscory

It's the number of threads per inch in the fabric carcass of the tire. Theoretically, more (127 tpi is typical) make a smoother, more compliant tire that rides better and conforms to small road irregularities, while fewer but thicker (66, usually) would be tougher. Probably some people can tell the difference, but I'm not sure I can.
