|Do you shave your arms too?
I saw somewhere that shaven legs can cut 5 seconds of a 40km TT. Shaven arms must help out a bit, 3 seconds?
What do you think?

|you need every advantage in the highly contentious cat 5's....im sure you all know what im talking about when i say during one of those long days in the saddle doing 20 miles at 23 mph you can feel every hair folicile slowing you down...it all needs to go if you are going to be a champion...it also looks sexy, or should i say i feel sexy...|

I doubt that 5 second time savings over the 40k TT as a result of shaving legs. As with yesterdays discussions, shaving legs is really about commitment and showing fraternity and solidarity with the other skinny tyred lads.
That said, I am a fairly light skinned and "hairless" gent to begin wiith, but I shave my legs, and I shave my chest, stomach, and shoulders. This is more for the HYDRODYNAMICS I ahceive for the swims (I compete as an amatuer triathlete along with amatuer road racing.) In the water I can notice a considerable difference being hairless!
Also, there is the vanity issue. No joke, but many women seem to like the shaved legs and chest, so I keep 'em shaved!

|The only reason to shave your legs is so that the post race message isn't complete agony. Trust me, I'm a pretty fuzzy guy, and getting a deep tissue message with hairy legs is like a half-hour Indian burn. Other than that, it's complete vanity; shaved legs show muscle definition better and identify you as a roadie -- or a transvestite.|
