what is the word on the merlin xl compact...?
I have read both great and crap reviews..
and i haven't been able to take one out..
any opinions...?

I think sometimes merlins get a bad wrap .. in terms of being for old timers or doctors..
construcitve input is valued..
thanks..

I assume you're talking about the Agilis compact as well then. I bought one about three months ago and have no complaints. I'm on the heavier side, about 180lbs and the frame doesn't feel flexy in the least. It's more comfortable than my previous steel frame and with a setback seatpost, the geometry works well for me. Its lighter than some, heavier than others, but overall its treating me well.

As for being for old guys, I'm 25 so I don't think it really matters. Personally, and nothing at all against Litespeed, but I'd rather own a Merlin if for nothing else the fact that every other titanium bike isn't a Merlin.
