Shimano warranty claim result - TWO big thumbs up.....roadmeister

On April 8, I posted a thread regarding Shimano WH-7700
Dura-Ace wheel problems (Rim cracks around the eyelets),
and had my LBS send the bad wheels back to Shimano for
evaluation. Knowing that these wheels were 2 years old, with 6,000 miles on them, I didn't hold out any hope that
industry giant Shimano would "take care of the little guy".
Guess what?? My LBS called last week and said that "Shimano
warrantied your wheels, and we have your new wheelset ready
for you to pick up". (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I almost fell on the
floor when I heard this...Could it be for real?? When I went
down, I picked up my brand new, 2002 model WH-7701 Dura-Ace
wheels, at absolutely no charge. I am still almost speechless about this...was it dumb luck?Did my LBS have
some dirt on local Shimano rep? Were the stars and planets
lined up just right? Or, does Shimano really stand behind
their products (as they should). Good job, Shimano...you
have a very satisfied customer here...........
