It happened last year, can someone tell me what the guy's name was who got disqualified for this? I wonder if the guy broke his nose.

Vlad' Bell (sp)i and it was more of a slap than a punch. The "victim" was Simoni's nephew and a member of the Simoni hooligans. You can probably find some links to the full story on cyclingnews.com

FWIW: I thought Belli should have gotten a 30 second bonus for the move.

Phil said today that he probably would not have been disqualified if it hadn't been caught on camera. He also thought the punishment was a tad harsh. Especially since the Simoni hooligans had been harrassing riders.
That's "interesting"JohnG

When the deal went down last year Phil made it CLEAR that he was in favor of the DQ. Maybe he's reconsidered the situation. ???

Wladimir Belli. He punched (he actually denied it was a punch) a member of the Simoni Hooligans, who was a cousin or nephew of Simoni himself.
