1-1/8 to 1" headset shims: Living dangerously?NeedSpeed

I had to have a frame replaced from Trek and upgraded from a 2200 to a 2300 (same frame alloy Klein uses). However I have a 1" uncut Reynolds Ouzo Pro fork that I want to keep using instead of the Trek carbon fork that comes with the 2300. Does anyone have experience riding a shimmed fork on a 1-1/8 headset bike? Is the steering true? Does it shimmy on downhills? If this works, I'll probably cut the fork and leave it. The setup I'm using with the Reynolds and the shims are a 1" Chris King NoThreadset and a 130mm ITM Millenium stem and bars. Thanks.
