|I'm pretty much sold on a Colnago Oval Master for my next frame. I have only one reservation: Paint on a Ti frame. Does anyone have experience with an Oval Master and it's paint job? Does it chip easily? Does it take a touch-up that sticks. Colnago does not offer this model in clear.|

|I don't have an Ovalmaster. I have a Colnago bititan (It's Ti)painted the 'art deco' design. No chips, no problems. I've even done some pavement surfing without any scuffs on the frame. After five years, there is some abrasions on the top tube where a cable rubs, but that's it. The paint jobs on Colnago have a great rep.|

|I've only had it since November.
Touch-up: I don't see why you'd have any special problems (at least not with the basics of paint adhesion). The good news is: there really isn't quite the rush to touch up a spot if you get a small scratch or chip--it's not as if the Ti is going to rust. On the down side: if you have one of the Deco airbrushed paint jobs, you might find it tricky to do right if you're a perfectionist.

|I have a 1998 monotitan art deco and the paint looks almost as good today as it did when I purchased it. I have one small nick under the bb from a rock thrown by the tire. To give you more reason not to question Colnago paint, the bike has almost 10,000 miles on it! Hope you enjoy your new Ovalmaster.|

|I just purchased an Ovalmaster myself and was wondering the same thing. However, I found out that none of the Colnagos have a clear coat anymore...it is actually a silver undercoat. However, Colnago is willing to paint the frame as you please...I ordered the paint job that comes on the CT1 on my Ovalmaster (i.e. it will have the silver undercoat instead of the white).|| |
