|Helmet vents are touted for their cooling properies, but does anyone have a sense whether any helmets are quieter than others? I wear a Bell Nemesis 2 (a mtb helmet) for road riding and there seems to be alot of noise at speed. Does the helmet affect the amount of noise?
Plus, at certain speeds, it seems that my current lid makes a noise that sounds like a car hanging just behind and top the left of me.
Which helmet gives the quietest ride?

|you ride slowly in - wind noise is generated by speed when it goes over objects like helmet vents and even my sideburns when they get real bushy
it's a necesarry evil

try road specific helmets with smaller vents they seem to be quieter. Also if you btw sizes smaller helmet would snug tight and generate less noise good luck

|In my experience, most helmet noise comes from the straps that are right by your ears. If you re-thread them and give them one twist, it really cuts down (but does not eliminate) the noise.|

Did you ever get any recommendations for less noisy helmets? I posted the exact same question on the Bicycle.com Buying forum but didn't get much info.
BTW, do you live in Portland OR? I'm in Vancouver WA
