|I am mostly from offroad background so thanks for your patience with my question.
What kind of bike did Lance Armstrong ride before he was paid to ride bikes?
Is Trek the only bike Lance has raced on?

|Prior to his comeback Lance road for the now defunct American Motorola team. They rode Caloi bikes (at least in '95).
Not sure what else Lance has had. He started riding for Subaru but I don't recall what bikes they rode.
Most of the pros ride bikes built for their size and style. Much like the Campy vs Shimano debate - riders ride what the sponsers give them - not what they would pick out in the store if they had to buy their own stuff. Heck, way back when 7-11 was the American team they rode bikes branded with the HUFFY name.

|in smaller letters under caloi, it said "by eddy merckx". they were actually merckx built framesets. merckx entered into an agreement with caloi to import his bikes into south america and in lieu of cash, they wanted their name on the frames in the european peloton. lotto also rode rebadged merckx/caloi frames at this time.|
