I have been riding about 1 year now. I usally ride between 60-80 miles a week. I just started some weight trainning for my upper body. My question is , is do I need to also work my legs? I work out every other day, and ride every other day in between. My legs are in pretty good shape already. Will I hurt my cycling if I work my legs on my riding rest days? I am thinking about just doing a upper body workout? Any suggestions?

|If you want to get ripped with minimal impact on your cycling performance, do your leg workouts on the days that you ride, preferably after your ride. That way, you will have full rest days in between to allow your muscles to repair and grow. I personally think that lifting is harder on the larger muscle groups than cycling is. To get fast though, you need to ride and you need to rest.|| |
