just realized my helmet hurts neck, can't stay on aerobars for more then 10-15min. I would probably benefit from higher forehead cut helmet.. which one?

It probably has more to do with your position than the helmet. Check with a fit specialist to make sure you have appropriate reach and height, and work on hip flexibility.

I am doing fine w/o helmet. It obscures vision and makes me twist neck more (also adds extra 12oz)

Depends on what you hope to get out of cycling, and if you're a pure racer, maybe you have to do it. For the reasons most of us ride, though, a position you can't maintain for more than 10-15 minutes seems like a bad thing. I've been riding for more than 30 years, and nothing has made as much difference in my comfort and enjoyment as raising my bars to about the height of the saddle.
