Does anyone have expierences with the Polar S610 hartrate monitor... I am thinking of buying it.... How is the software supplied with it? And can I use my current laptop IR interface with windows98?

Let me know!

I've been using the s610 for over a year now as I couldn't get my hands on the 710. Its definitely a great heart rate monitor. I ended up buying the IR interface for $30 and it works flawlessly. I run win2k, but I believe it worked on my win 98 machine. The software is decent. Its a pretty good training diary and lets you record everything, but there is a good amount of manual work that needs to be done as the 610 only records heart rate. The 710 inputs cadence (if you have it), distance traveled, speed, etc, all with the heart rate displayed. Other than that, the software lets you record your morning heart rate, hours of sleep, a relative 'how you feel' meter, along with weight, etc. There's a ton of info you can fill out, but like many things, you need to spend some time inputting data.

I highly recommend the monitor.
