Came across this auction on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1822080503

With the cable guides on the top of toptube, 1" threaded Non Air Rail fork, this looks like a repainted '93-'96 OCLV to me, and it is now sold as a brand new 110 frame and later changed to 120.

It's interesting the seller (knowingly?) made the same mistake in the auction title when he relisted it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1824824343

How reliable is ebay feedback?

It is an OCLV '150'; pre-2000, I don't know exactly what year (they didn't start using the numbers until the 2001 debut of the 120, but prior frames would have been 150's if the same measurement was used).
How do you know which year is a Trek OCLV frame ?PeterRider

Have also found this on ebay. From the picture, how do you know what year it is ? The guy says it is a 1998 frame.

Thanks,

Pierre

The best way to tell is color, then headtube badge style and decal style. Other changes, like how and where they place cable stops can be clues. But you need somebody pretty knowledgable to sort it all out. That one is definitely pre-1999; but I don't know how much.

go to www.chainreactionbicycles.com and as Mike Jacubowsky. he's a trek dealer and would be able to ID the bike. alternatively, post on rec.bicycles.marketplace; he posts there a lot.
