Are Fuji bikes any good? When I was in school (20 years ago) I used to consider them very good bikes. Now it seems as though they are barely a step above a Sports Authority Mongoose.

Personally, I think Fuji is the best "bang for the buck" manufacturer out there, at least in their road bike line. My only gripe is the framesizing, as Fuji's have this wierd center to top of seat tube thing going on(I guess it would be considered a "dropped-top tube). But then again, my Trek is off by about 2cm at least also.

Check the specs, check the frame materials. The framebuilding is at the very least adequate also.

But then again this is MY opinion; take from it what you will.

Fuji was a leader in the '80s. They were a bit too conservative in their approach. They were reluctant to experiment with frame materials other than steel and they didn't hop on the MTB bandwagen soon enough.

By the '90s they were hurting and playing catch up. In the early/mid '90s they pissed off all their dealers when they started selling their low end stuff in sporting goods stores. They are slowly making a comeback.

Off the top of my head I can count 5 Fuji bikes I've owned. I began riding on a Fuji. They have always and continue to be a solid product for the price.
