im headin into college next year, and i have been doing a lot of distance running, and have considered road cycling as an option... what bikes would you recommend? im lookin at the trek 2200 and the lower end mongoose road bike for '02 the one that begins with b. also are there like bike clubs or teams that u can join for the summer or such? thanks help is appreciated.

It all depends on how much you're planning on using the bike...If you think you're going to stay in cycling for a long time, then it'll be well worth your hard earned $$ to get an Ultegra equipped bike. If, however, you're looking at only complementing your running, and you're going to stay more of a runner, then 105 would be as high as you might want to go. Go to a big LBS (local bike shop) and ask their opinion, keeping in mind that they're out to make a buck. Find a friend who's pretty into cycling, and take that person with you. Good luck!
