Where do you clamp an aluminum frame with a carbon seatpost?

If it gets crushed, at least it's less expensive to replace than the frame. Put alot of cloth between the post and clamp, and adjust the clamp just enough to hold the bike from turning in the stand. Aluminum tubing is thinner than a seatpost, and surely more vulnerable to crush in a clamp. A carbon fiber seatpost is probably thick enough to withstand the gripping pressure.
