Ksyrium Wheels Shipping Charges Chicago to SW MissouriOzarksRacer

I was ready to order a set of Ksyrium wheels online from a bike shop in the Chicago area. They have them on sale for $50 off and a free set of Continental Tires. Then when I got to the shipping page, they were charging me $44.91 to ship them over to the next state, Missouri. I stopped the order right there, because I feel like I was getting ripped off. Is this too much for UPS ground service?

I had my wheels built in England and shipped to California and it didn't cost that much.

Sounds like they're trying to make up the 'discount' on the back end...

You might try Sdeals (England) or Totalcycling (Northern Ireland). I had a pair of Open Pros made by Sdeals that have been bulletproof.
way too much....C-40

You can buy Ksyrium SSC SL wheels from totalcycling.com and get them with air freight in three days for around $550.

I just shipped a set of wheels, double boxed, with a saddle, seapost, and three tires for $11, UPS ground, from Kansas City to Baltimore.
Slightly high, but not unreasonableMGS

I've shipped wheels directly via UPS for 38 dollars. Although I don't know if you requested ground, or 2nd day, the cost for shipping wheels is typically about 30-40 dollars.

The wheel size is over sized and incurs a surcharge. The weight is no problem.

Go to www.ups.com and enter calculate out the cost yourself.

SHipping wheels by UPS ground is typically $15-25 unless you use a box way too big.
