Since you're posting I take it you aren't going out today either. Hey, how many you reckon will turn out?

I never registered. I just got back from an overseas vacation and I'm not an experienced world traveller so I decided that jet lag was too much of an unknown for me so I laid off.

I just drove over to see how it's going. Looks like they've had some drop outs but still lots of riders out (all looking cold).

I'm sure they'll have fun regardless.

The turn out was pretty low,and they will probably have alot of food left over. I waited until 9:00 before heading out,and they closed the century route at 8:30 so I opted for the metric,it looked like the sky was going to open up any minute. I don't think it got above 40o all day and heading into that wind all wet and sweaty was bitter cold. TCBC always puts on a good ride though no matter what the weather.

I have never been so dirty in my life. People I know didn't recognize me at the finish. You couldn't tell what type of bike I was riding. I had to clean things I've never cleaned before. I had my helmet (without the pads) in the sink next to my Camelback (not the bladder part).

Had fun though. :-)

Mid Atlantic series. Same effects for mud. Had 4 inches of mud to climb steep hills. Bike weight over 50 pounds on the climbs and had to pull cakes of mud to get clearance.

I haven't race mud this bad since early 90's when all spring races were muddy. They left us dip our bikes in the pond to clean the mud off.

Now if I can remember what I overhauled the last time I got the bike this muddy. I bet my Sugar weights over 30 pounds now (don't have many drain holes).

Hope you all had fun on the rainy sunday in the east.
