| What would you do if? poll. | Mike P Apr 26, 2002 6:32 PM | | What would you do if you were told you would NEVER ride a bike again?
So, , I'm afraid the has caused your velo-being irreparable damage. You can never ride again.
What would go through your head at the time? What about later, after having a bit of time to really let it sink in?
I got to thinking about it after my eye Doc told me I am not to ride for 2 weeks after my May 10 eye surgery. I am having trouble figuring out what I am supposed to do with 9 - 10 extra hours a week, for 2 weeks.
I am not someone who has ridden all my life. Riding is not the focal point of my existance, but, it is a very important part of my life. And over the last year or two I have been putting more and more into riding, and getting so much in return; a lot of things I was hoping for and many I wasn't expecting, but good things mostly.
I don't know what I would do, something else I guess.

For what it's worth, I was off my bike for ten weeks due to the results of a bad crash while riding my bike two years ago. I layed around in my recliner, got fat, out of shape, watched a lot of TV. I had to be talked back on my bike again. First ride back, I was hooked. If I couldn't ride, hopefully I'd find another way to keep in shape. If I was forced to be physically inactive, I'd go nuts.... |
