|Trek 5900 problems?||hammer_cycle|

|I'm curious if people have been experiencing headset problems with their Trek 5900's? My own brand new 5900 has experienced a 'binding' problem with the headset not being properly aligned to the frame. I know of several other people in my area that have 5900's with similar headset problems.
Anyone else experience this?
My local shop purchased a tool to reface/smoothe out the alignment issues and put a Chris King top in which has helped a lot, but the solution is still far from perfect.

|there have been several threads on this topic in the past. You may want to try a search.
I think that the issue was that Trek used a proprieatary headset in the 5900. The lower race was a different size than the upper race. Installation was very difficult to get dialed in. I think the solution was warranty work by TREK. I would be careful replacing with anything else before I tried the waranty route. Trek my claim that replacement invlidates warranty.
