I see a lot of people recomend this for long rides, I know for a fact I do not have the name correct. What is it and what is the purpose of it. And what brand dou you all like.

Thanks
Matt

also Ace hardware store and Southern States?

Ditto on Bag Balm this stuff really works I've done hundreds of miles on it. You need very little to apply and it stays on for long time.

PS btw for whatever reason CVS puts it in "beauty products" Isle 6A

It lubricates your butt and crotch against your shorts. I use it for anything over about 80 miles. The longer the ride, the more I use. Used in a 508 mile race last fall with no irritation at all (re-applied several times).
Ditto on the Chamois Butt'r.Len J

Apply it to the pad liberally. No chafing ever. I do it on every ride over an hour, it's cheep protection.

I've tried the Cafe Chamois? creme from Branford Bike - decent stuff but just a bit on the 'thin' side. It seems to have less 'staying power'. Ok for shorter rides, but so far, nothing beats Chamois Butt'r.

Paceline makes the stuff and it's like butta'! (says Linda Richman of Cawfee Tawlk fame)

I really like it, but haven't looked to see if any other (cheaper) products are actually made of the same things. Using supermarket-brand lotion (I've been told to try it) seems like a bad idea to me.

$14.95 for a tub that will last most of the season. Once you try this (or Chamois butter and other specific CYCLING cremes), you won't use bag balm or vasaline or diaper rash creme. You have to try it to know the difference. No chaffing-ever.You can get Assos @ Colorado cyclist.I get mine at my LBS @ a discount =)
Thanks guysIcefrk13
