|I am thinking about taking a job in the Ken Caryl/C-470 area and wanted to know about lunchtime riding opportunities. I'm in Boulder now and have it pretty damn good at lunchtime. I know about Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge but they seem a little far for a lunchtime ride.
Riding opportunities will not be the only consideration for taking the job.

|pick up the c-470 trail, it will take you to Chatfield, nice ride around the lake, out to Roxborough, loop back past Waterton canyon. Also from Chatfield, it's easy to get to Deer Creek Canyon rd, a fine climb and not too busy. It has another option, take the Pleasant Park road (I think that's the name) about 1/2 way up, can get 3000ft of climbing over 15mi that way.
Some nice rides in that neighbourhood IMO..

|That's a pretty broad area you're describing but that whole area is fantastic for riding. Depending on your lunch schedule you could head to numerous destinations with great rolling hills and be back in an hour or so, like Chatfield to Arrowhead. You could even do a quick MTB ride near Matthew Winters/Dakota Ridge.
After work you could fit in some climbing up Deer Creek Canyon before heading back to Boulder if you were so inclined. Or take in some great MTB riding at Mt. Falcon, White Ranch, or Apex.
Hope this helps.
