|youth road cycling/racing program?||WhoWasThat|

I'm in the very early stages of looking into the feasibility of starting a youth road cycling/racing program for kids from about 11 or 12 to about 16. Anyone who might have some information about the following, I'd really appreciate it:
If there are any, who are the leading groups doing this around the country (USA)?
I notice that Trek has a kid-sized, Sora-equipped road bike for $600. Are there other, similar products out there? Bianchi? Are these standard components on small frames?
Are there any groups that might help fund this kind of enterprise? Do bike manufacturers support this?
Any recommendations on where I should start?

|There are many teams with youth and/or development programs. I'm not sure about Mercury or Dare, but I know
7-UP has some junior development riders. These teams will likely be regonalized. Place to start.... Hope this helps.

|I am the head coach of a local triathlon team, which has 30 very enthusiastic 10-14 year olds and we are based out of a local community centre....
We get some support from the local buisness (bike shops etc..) but we tend to rely on parents a lot...
I would recommend starting from an established place, either a c.centre, or a bike shop perhalps... gives some extra credibility...
my two cents
