Looking at a new cyclocross wheelset, but concerned over durabilty. I am looking at Cane Creek Aeroheads, Velomax Circuit Comp, Bontrager Race X Lites, Spinergy XAeros, or the American Classic/Aeroheads. Anyone with durability info in any of these wheels? Thanks!!!!

Just FYI I am NOT happy with my American Classic hubs. Just put the Ultegra-hub wheelset back on the bike. Not glamorous, Not light, but they just keep ticking along.

I bought a set of Speeddreams a while back. The builder uses American Classic hubs. What didn't you like about them? I haven't had much problem, but I haven't had then very long either. There does seem to be a lot of play in the rear wheel despite having no wiggle in the axle.

Talk to Mike Garcia of Odds and Endos. He has built up a number of wheelsets using the American Classic hubs. He's a regular over on mtbr and is pretty highly thought of...

His website is http://www.oddsandendos.com . He also has some good AC info on this site... Better to call him then to e-mail...

As for wheelsets I would stay away from the boutique stuff and build up some Open Pro's with Ultegra hubs (3 cross). I'm using Sun Ringle CX wheels and have been breaking spokes recently...
