those little tan circles on the backs of both hands from wearing gloves while riding. While I'm sitting at work, doing paperwork, I can picture myself riding.
Anyone else like this too, or am I way too much of a bike geek?
No, you are wierd. hehehe..ntOwenMeany

I don't know if I should be posting this on the internet, but there are certain parts we are not allowed to sell unless the customer has the required tan patches on the hands. We have to inspect both hands. I caught a young fellow in our shop who almost sold a Ti seatpost to a golfer.

Ah, too bad for me... I'm an elementary school teacher, and when I read this I laughed out loud. My students all wanted to know what was so funny! My buddies at the bike shop look at my tan circles longingly everytime I go in to visit. You can spot a bike geek a mile away, isn't it great?

What about those of us who don't wear gloves while riding? I swore them off years ago when the handlbar tape got so darn thick I didn't need them anymore. If I wear gloves now, it's because it's cold. With the thick cork bar tape AND padded gloves, I can't grip the bars as securley as I like. More than once my hands have been taken off the bars by an unforseen bump in the road. Plus, I like an 'all-over' tan, if you know what I mean. The only jerseys I own are sleeveless, I don't wear socks while riding, etc. So, maybe I could use a secret (rbr) password to get my Ti seatpost?! (lol)

Farmer's blow (or snot-rocket, whatever you call it), pinch residue onto fingers, wipe on shirttail (or jersey) on INSIDE where it won't be seen and overlaps your shorts. My shirts and jerseys get washed after one wearing. How often do you wash your gloves?

I have 3 or 4 pair of gloves I regularly use. After several rides, I wash them all together with the other stuff. They each get washed after each longer ride. For shorter rides, they might go more than one.

I need the terry cloth back of gloves to wipe mucous and sweat off the forehead. Just remember which hand is which. :-O

With your tan markings you probably won't be able to buy "the good" bar tape anymore.

Do you ever get helmet vent stripes on yer scalp? I think this would indicate bikerhood as well.
Yes, I'm afraid you are correct. (nm)Chen2

I may not wear gloves to get the 'secret sign' on the back of my hands, but I am bald!! So I'll just forgo the sunscreen on my noggin and you can tell I cycle by the spots on my head!!

Whoo-hoo!! I'm back in the club!!

Tan lines? That would mean that some of you people have actually encountered sunshine this year.

Let's see, there must be a Seattle corollary for club membership...maybe it's the moss in the cleats or something.
Damn, I can't wait for spring.

When we had those 2 or 3 nice days a couple of weeks ago, I discovered that I actually feel kind of...naked...without my rain jacket.

I'm sitting here in Colorado watching it snow. The weather in April could be worse than Seattle.
