Seat Height Q? (NOT a fit question)...(2 posts)

Seat Height Q? (NOT a fit question)...timfire

I don't have a problem adjusting my seat to get it comfortable, but I have a question. When I switch between the drops and the hoods/ flats, it "feels" like my legs get shorter or longer. In particular, when I ride in the hoods/ flats, it seems like my legs are stretched out, but then when I switch to the drops, it suddenly feels like my legs are lower. I presume this has to do with rotating my hips for a more forward position.

Anyway, should I be dialing in my seat height to match the hoods/ flats position or the drops position, or something in the middle? Right now it's dialed in to the hoods/ flats.

Thanks,

The leg length difference between hoods/flats and drops is fairly small, so if your saddle height is adjusted to leave a 155-160 degree knee angle at the bottom of the pedal stroke, it's not likely to cause any discomfort.
