Guess its back to the Colorado Cyclist girl for you.

FWIW, I don't see what the fascination over her is. She doesn't look like she rides a bike much.

I heard she's desperately looking for a balding fat guy who can't see his own shoes while standing up. Preferably he's unemployed, always has a piece of straw in his mouth, and owns a rusted out 1970 Chevy Nova with no muffler. Ideally, he still lives with mom.

Could that be you RadicalRonPruitt? :)

Has she publically announced it? No, I don't think so. She travels with a female traveling companion. I've never heard any romantic interests described in interviews. If you read between the lines in some of the interviews, it suggests she is gay. Not that I care or deride anyone for their sexual preferences. Mostly, I was just trying to bum out RadicalRon.

In Chicago, you don't even have to get off your bike. Just ride along the Lake Shore Drive bike path. So much scenery in that 12 mile bike path. Be careful, as the idiots are out. Especially the tourist that rent those bikes built for four that resemble a car.

Your disrepectful, disloyal, and disgustingly self-centered comments about your wife say a lot more about you than they do her. You do realize you're broadcasting these comments to the world don't you? Regardless of how you two feel about each other now, you once loved each other enough to be married. At least have some respect for that and keep your cowardly, passive-aggressive comments about your wife to yourself. I truly feel sorry for her and for her sake I hope she never finds out what a dispicable POS you are. Since you're such a big man, do her a favor and divorce her. Jeez, I hope you don't have any kids....

The more I think about this, the more I believe your comments and your "wife" are fabrications. They're just too stupid to be real.

There is more to all of this story than I am willing to post. We don't have a great marriage. Sorry we aren't like the Cleavers or even the Osbournes. I worked at it, but it got old.

Some of the stuff you say makes me embarrassed that we share the same gender. You sound like some dumb gorilla, or a 15 year old boy. I can't figure out which one.

I've been with the same woman for 6 years now and we're happy and have a good sex life. Sure, its not what it was for the first six months, but we work on it and don't ignore each other. Maybe you should try to do the same.

I've been through one divorce and can tell you that it takes two to make a marriage go bad. Seems like you're doing more than your fair share. Why not log onto your favorite porn site and spare the rest of us your musings.

I'd rather argue about the merits of Campy vs. Shimano than listen to how cute the model on the front of Colorado Cyclist is. For God's sake, grow up.

Campy Vs. ShimanoRadicalRonPruitt
Apr 16, 2002 4:30 AM
You know, I am not a dumb gorilla. My wife has let herself go downhill, and it has effected the marriage negativly. I take care of myself. Average 30-40 miles a day on the bike. Her work out regime is chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream spoon lifts. I have talked to her about her weight and she doesn't listen. She doesn't want to change. What else can I do? I have told her that she needs to make a lifestyle change that would better things for us, but it obviously isn't important to her. As for you marriage, be happy you found a good one. My woman is a slob, and I have had enough. I envy you man.

Do you degrade her at home or in public like you do here? If so, maybe that adds to her poor self esteem and solace is only found in a tub of Chubby Hubby. Maybe some counseling will help (oh geez, I sound like Ann Landers)

If you're that inhappy and feel permanently stuck, then get out. Life's to short to be spent being miserable. I'm much happier in my present marriage than I was in my past one.

Ron:

You've made it abundantly clear that you are unhappy with your wife. We get it. What is it you want from us?

My personal experience with a divorce that was initiated by my ex-wife, was that, while it was "Easy" to make it all about her, the truth was that there were two of us in the marriage. Even though I wanted to rail at her, I honestly knew that if I didn't want to make the same mistake again, I had better look inside myself & figure out what my part in the deterioration of my marriage was. Never wanting to go through that pain again was the motivation to bear the pain of self examination. I did it (Honestly) kicking and screaming, but I did it. It was one of the best things I have ever done in my life.

Of all the sentiments that Don expressed, the one I was agreeing with, was that you are part of the relationship, you chose to be there, you have chosen to react to her weight gain with anger. You have a choice to examine your part of the (apparent) deterioration of your marriage.

It's your choice, but I don't think that taking shots at your wife on a public forum is going to help your marriage.

I wish you luck.

Len

Now it's my turn to weigh in on this...I was in a comparable boat six years ago. My ex let herself go after each kid, gaining and keeping about 55lbs. The worst part was that she lost most of it between kids! I was doing triathlons and she was eating twinkies. She had ample opportunities to remedy the problem, but chose not to. Some women don't understand that men are somewhat shallow and have a (reasonable, in my opinion)expectation to remain attractive. Before the flaming starts, THAT IS A TWO_WAY STREET!!! We husbands also have an equal responsibility to keep ourselves attractive for our wives.

In all fairness, this led me to do things that, in retrospect, should have been done differently. This is where I failed. I would not change where I am at today (super wife!), but I would change how I got here.

Husbands/wives need to ask themselves the questions: Would my SO ask me out if I looked like this back when we first met?

I am risking a HUGE flame, but life is about risk sometimes.

Apr 16, 2002 10:00 AM
I'm not going to flame you, I think you missed my point. I don't care if RRP's wife turned into the 50-foot woman, his references to her, if she exists, are a crime against common decency and basic respect. Hopefully, if a person has more depth than a cup of coffee, they marry for reasons more than just physical attractiveness. Yes, people change, but even if your spouse put on a 100-pounds, they are still your spouse. If a person lets themself go physically, there is typically an underlying reason and it might be a good idea to find out what that is. I can think of a million reasons RRP's wife let herself go, the biggest that comes to mind is she's not interested in being attractive to him. If your spouse had a disfiguring accident, you gonna' head for the door because she's no longer as attractive as she once was? Can you imagine how you'd feel to find out your spouse was being so murderously disrespectful to you on a public forum? Just talking out loud here, not pointing it at you.

My opinion is that RRP is just another troll and if he's real, well, that's just sad.
