back ache, skin numbness... and a new uniform.hayaku

Recently I have begun to notice that at high workloads, near lactate threshold, my lower back starts to ache and the skin on my lower back goes numb. (At least it's not my nads) Otherwise my possition is comfortable for hours on end.
Could it be that I need to work on back strength or flexability? Any constructive advice would be great.

And this is my new team uniform, I got it yesterday. Yay!

Actually it's probably the opposite.

My guess is that you need to work on your abdominal strength if you currently don't do much ab work.

Most back pain comes from a lack of support and strength from the abdominal region.

Their may be some flexibility issues at hand as well, but if your overall fit feels comfortable then that probably isn't much of an issue.

As for the numbing of the skin, I really don't have a solution for that. Maybe get out of the saddle a little more when you feel the numbness coming on or moving around in the saddle a little more.
