If so, is it any good? How does it compare to previous USCF legal aero helmets (Giro Aerohead, Bell Vortex, Bell Stratos, Specialized Aeroforce, OGK TT, Troxel Radius, etc.)?

I still haven't got it yet, and it'll be my first and only aero lid, but I'll post a mini review as soon as possible.

Second truly "aero" helmetBAi9302010

Besides the Giro Aerohead, the Prologue helmet in my opinion, is the second truly "aero" USCF legal TT helmet. Both are teardrop shaped and therefore guide the air over your neck and back. Most of the previous USCF legal TT helmets, the Troxel Radius being the most well known (although as I mentioned before, there is also the Bell Stratos, Bell Vortex, OGK TT and a few others) were not actually very aero. For example, the Troxel was basically a regular helmet without vents. Unlike the Prologue, it did not do anything to smooth out the air.
What are your opinions about this?

Also, I don't know much about the previous other USCF legal TT helmets and it seems strange that they did not produce them for very long despite there being such a large demand for them.

I don't pretend to be an expert, but I understand the Radius to have been among the most aero legal helmets. It was tested quite extensively in the wind tunnel before the '96 Olympics (which it was designed for) and has a number of design features to improve airflow.

Wanted one for the 24 hr race upcoming, so ordered 2 to make sure. Now I'm stuck with an extra (medium, carbon, w/ visor -- anyone want one?).

It pretty much feels like any other helmet, except it covers the ears, too. The visor sucks. It comes down and hits me right in the middle of my eyes, no matter how I adjust the helmet. I took it off.

I'm going to use it for the night portion of the 24 hr race this Saturday. I'll give a more complete review next week.

Wrong Troxel HelmetBAi9302010

The Troxel Helmet you're thinking of is the non-USCF legal titanium fairing, not the USCF legal Radius. You can see photos of Kent Bostic using one here:
