Tech Q?: How do I change the position of my STI lever?timfire

I would like to change the position of my shimano 105 STI lever, but I'm not sure how to loosen the the clamp to move the lever around. Would someone mind walking me through how?

Thanks,

...and there's a bolt on the outside (parallel to the ground) that loosens the clamp, at least if it's like my Ultegra.

Good luck

on the outside of each brake hood you will see an intendtion (about where the top knuckle of your index finger is when you grasp them) that continues under the black hood/cover. this is a guide slot the will lead you to a 4mm bolt that controls the clamp. happy hunting.

Once you are happy with the lever position, take care not to torque the heck out of the clamp. Tighten it just enough to support your body weight when your hands are on the hoods, but loose enough so that the shifter can move sideways in a crash instead of breaking off.
