|Hi, I am new to the sport. Currently shopping for my first road bike. I have been riding a mountain bike for 2 years and got hooked to the road style.
I am thinking of buying a Lemond steel frame bike, upon inspectioning it, I noticed that the rear derailleur housing didn't have replaceble one as my mountain bike. Is this common for steel frames ?

|I can't think of any steel or Ti frame with replaceable hanger.
It's not big deal if it bothers you get a break away bolt.

|Because you can bend them back if possible. If not you can have a new one welded on easly. You can't weld an aluminum frame.|

|Check out some steel mtb frames (if you can find any) you will see that they don't have replacable hangers either. That is an AL thing. No worries with Steel.|| |
