Hi, I am new to the sport. Currently shopping for my first road bike. I have been riding a mountain bike for 2 years and got hooked to the road style.
I am thinking of buying a Lemond steel frame bike, upon inspectioning it, I noticed that the rear derailleur housing didn't have replaceble one as my mountain bike. Is this common for steel frames ?
you shouldn't need one with a steel frameColnagoFE

if they do get dinged you can usually bend them back unlike AL.

I can't think of any steel or Ti frame with replaceable hanger.
It's not big deal if it bothers you get a break away bolt.

Because you can bend them back if possible. If not you can have a new one welded on easly. You can't weld an aluminum frame.

Check out some steel mtb frames (if you can find any) you will see that they don't have replacable hangers either. That is an AL thing. No worries with Steel.
