|protein/water/sports drink before and or during training?||zeke|

|I am about to begin a long training period for a 3day 450k ride in september, and am wondering what to do about refreshment before and during the ride.
I plan to carbo load before, while during I plan to carry and eat dried fruit, eg figs or prunes. I am using these fruits during training now and am quite happy with them, though this is my first training experience and have nothing to compare them with.
Also, my drink at the moment is water.
So, to get to my questions
I saw a post about protien being important for long rides, thus, should I add some form of protein during the ride? If so what?
Also would a sports drink be necessary or beneficial during the ride, or is water adequate?
