|A powdered product called Accelerade mixed with mostly gatorade works for me. It is one of the few energy drinks that contains a good amount of protein, which aids in muscle recovery. However, Accelerade is expensive and you can only find the product in health food specialty stores or online bike shops, etc. You can find gatorade powder at grocery stores. And yes, if you are careless during rides gatorade can become sticky. Good news is you know where it's dirty when cleaning time comes around. Welcome to the Road!|

|Seriously, I found Powerade (the blue kind) in powdered form and I mix it using half the recommended scoop. But only if my ride is longer than an hour. If under an hour, I just drink water.|

|It's been proven to be the best fluid known for replenishing a dehydrated body, and it's quite inexpensive, too! I never go on a ride without at least 2 bottles. It's really the best drink by far.|

|I try to drink it even when I'm not riding. I like it so much that I've had a several taps installed in my house to dispense it!
Sometimes I bathe in it as well. And it is the best for washing the bike.
Try that with Gatorade!
Easily the most useful of the sports drinks.

|I like Absolut Kurant, Blackhaus blackberry Schnapps (chilled), assorted combinations of Kahlua, Irish Cream, and assorted Schnapps with Bacardi rums, Absolut Mandarin, and such. One thing I tried was hot cider with the Butterscotch Schnapps and Bacardi 151. Goes down smooth; quite the variety drink. Yeah sure, I still lean a bit towards the fruitier drinks, and am also allergic to beer. Ah well.|

|Sometimes I mix in a little fluorescent sugar water, but not too often, and usually only for rides of more than 100 km.|

|even if you were so messy that youre getting gatorade on your hands and bike... they'll both wash clean. Dont worry about what the bikeshop guy said and use whatever works for you.
remember, everyone's body is difft, fuel that works for one person doesnt necessarily work for the other.

|Glucose and electrolytes in an affordable powder. The stuff has been on the market for 20 years or so, and I like it the best of any I've tried. Ultima is another good one, but costs a lot and doesn't seem to give me the energy boost I get from GookinAid. My second choice is to drink water and eat sweets such as Gu, Fig Newtons, and Pay Day Candy bars.|

|Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. Failing that, a Magnet is quite acceptable. Please do not overchill.|| |
