Just curious here to see what people have to say. I'm wondering if Mild winters like the winter overall this year. makes for faster and overall better in shape early season racing(crit, road) than say a colder winter. any feedback would be great.
Thank you

From 152 to 172. But I'm not in horrendous shape or anything, in fact, better than this time last year. While most of the nation had it easy, this Winter in Utah was a bit uglier than the last few. I had really wanted to stay in shape all Winter, but it didn't happen. I wonder how long it will take to get back in form.
I actually lost 20lbs since October, hoho.elviento

I continued riding 4-5 times a week unless the temperature went below 28. You use more calories in cold weather, so it worked out great. Winter is a bit harder for cyclists but a bit mental toughness goes a long way.

BTW, I am still 15lbs heavier than you are, so no worries. LOL.

... and it's wool-lined, too! The insulated body cast — just the thing to be wearing when the temperature starts to warm up in Florida.

(Aside: It's been five years since I lived in the mountains. Can you remind me what "colder winter" means?)

Started "reconditioning" therapy on Friday. Quads, hammies, glutes, all stuff that is non-invasive to the back. But I've lost almost an inch off each thigh. Got a lot of work to do.

Funny thing is, wearing this body cast has really slimmed my waist down. And while I've lost inches in my legs, I've actually gained in my arms, even with a bum shoulder. None of this makes sense.

Could get clearance to go back to work on the 22nd. Fingers crossed on that one.

Good news: The Serotta comes tomorrow, the BMW on Tuesday. Now if I could just ride and drive them, respectively ...

Mike
