Which bike is better KHS or TREK?jmb3b

Between the KHS Flite 500 or the TREK 1000. I know this is probably a dummy question, but I'm buying one and price is not the issue. I've narrowed it down to these two if someone could help me out that would be great.

I believe KHS has cheap taiwanese frames while Trek's stuff is race proven and they have the best warranty in this industry.
The Trek is made in Asia also...Dave Hickey

Not that it makes a difference, but the Trek is also made in Asia. What are the components on each bike? Which one fit's you better? How you test rode each and which road better?

I should have said, "Have you test rode each and which bike rode better?".

The KHS is steel and the Trek is aluminum... that alone may influence your preference (I'd pick entry level steel over entry level al). They are pretty similarly spec'd component-wise.

I had a 2000 trek 1000 ... I liked the frame and hated the components.... It was my first road bike, I bought it used for a few hundred dollars to see if I would like the sport, and it would like me. I just upgraded though. If you go with the trek see if you can at least get to a 105 components the soras suck A$$ in my opinion. But great frame just over 3 lbs in a 54cm.
